Eric started his musical experience at the age of 11. He was given a full scholarship at the prestigious Philippine High School for the Arts as a Music Major for Flute. As a High School student, he was able to perform in various provinces in the Philippines and was also a part of the Philippine delegation in International Arts Festivals in Milan, Italy (1999) and Incheon, South Korea (2000). He also won 1st Place at the National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA), Category B for flute in 1998.
He later studied Flute Performance with full scholarship at the University of the Philippines College of Music. He also won 3rd Place at the NAMCYA Category C for Flute as a freshman in the University. Here, he was able to study and be a member of various musical groups: UP Symphonic Band, Manila City Band, Cavite Youth Symphonic Band and the Manila Symphony Orchestra to name a few.
Eric completed his Diploma in Teaching (Saxophone) from the London College of Music Examinations through Big Ben International Academy for Music, English, and Performing Arts in Jakarta, Indonesia under examiner Dr. John Beilby.
His musical teaching experience includes teaching flute at the Korean International School-Philippines; drums and wind instruments (flute and saxophone) at St. Augustine School and St. Dominic College of Asia. He is the Band Conductor of Magdalo Band, a community band in his province in the Philippines. He also teaches young kids who likes to join the band. He also won Best Soloist awards in various community band competitions in the provinces.
He was a member of Out of Order, an up and coming jazz-funk modern band group in the Philippines, with hit original songs Fine Me, Slow and Lost Direction. He also has regular gigs at some well-known hotel, bar and restaurants in Manila and other places in the Philippines.
